Interactive Azure vs AWS capablity & service map

Last week we explained the advantages of Capability Maps, by demonstrating how such a capability map could help organize Azure’s capabilities in such a way that it becomes easier to find your way.

In this installment, we look at an improved capability map that allows you to switch between an Azure and an AWS view of the map, by using the switcher at the bottom of the page.

All big cloud providers offer about the same capabilities: Compute, Analytics, Networking, Storage, Security, AI, and so on.  They just have different services for implementing those capabilities.

And so you’d look at a map for those implementations by looking for the capabilities and see how they’re implemented.

For instance, BI reporting with Azure is typically done using Power BI Embedded, with AWS it is done with QuickSight.

We hope you’ll enjoy the improved map 🙂
