Google still king of Mobile when it comes to ARPU

In an interesting article on TheInformation.com, Tom Dotan published the following chart:

It shows the big lead Google has over its competitors in the mobile space regarding Average revenue per user (ARPU).

Tom Dotan also uncovers that the industry is painfully opaque when it comes to detailing figures. Companies mostly don’t publish basic figures on their mobile operations separate from their totals, or maybe only when it’s in their interests.

So he made the graph with a lot of guesstimating.

We desperately need more transparency, because now we’re too often reading tealeaves. There are no clear benchmarks either, so were also all too often comparing apples and oranges.
